This project’s goal was to create a fictional identity. First, I created a theoretical business: Guerrilla Noise; a recording label and venue for local bands. This fictional business was based in San Fransisco and needed to appeal to a diverse yet young audience. The spectrum of Northern California, skater boy to Urban Outfitters, beach girl.
The strongest connection between these two was the aesthetic of thrift stores. So, I looked at text, textures, and imagery from items in local San Francisco thrift stores. Common themes were ‘80’s type, fur, old film photography, and cassette tapes. From here, I fleshed out designs until I felt the ads would attract Guerilla Noises audience.
