The British rock band, The 1975, became the soundtrack to my later years of high school. Matt Healy, the lead singer and lyricist, became an icon for me that encapsulated the rock star lifestyle. So, when I came across the web-article by Michael Hann; which explored the insecurities of Healy, I was inspired to create a four spread publication as an anchor for his text. Trying to capture the aesthetics of The 1975 while maintaining the tension between rock idol and insecure man, was an exciting challenge.
